Roussenski Lorn Nature Park at the village of Cherven, Rousse district. Situated to the south of the city of Rousse, it includes the lower reaches of the river Roussenski Lorn and its tributaries Cherni Lorn, Beli Lorn and Malki Lorn on an area of 3259.8 ha. The picturesque cliffs house dozens of natural and man-made caves. The vegetation is diverse and includes the Mizian Plain's only dense forest. The wildlife is diverse: nesting rare and vanishing bird species like the Egyptian vulture (Neophron percnopterus) and the saker falcon (Falco cherug) that are on the List of Endangered Birds in Europe. There are interesting historic monuments like the Ivanovo rock monastery on the UNESCO List of World Natural and Cultural Heritage.
